Please take a few moments to read the terms governing access to and use of the Stargate Worlds server.

1. Project Nature
Stargate Worlds (SGW) is a fan-made private game server, created in an educational and community context by Stargate saga enthusiasts. This project is in no way a commercial venture.
SGW is a study and learning project open to all. It is developed and maintained voluntarily by fans and students passionate about the Stargate universe and online game server development.
This project is not affiliated with any commercial publisher and does not claim to be. It is part of a community approach to preserving and exploring the Stargate universe.
2. Terms of Access
Access to Stargate Worlds is completely free and open to anyone wishing to join the adventure. No subscription, no payment and no obligation is required.
- Be at least 13 years old (or have parental authorization)
- Accept these terms of access
- Have a working internet connection
- Download the SGW game client (available via our Discord)
100% free. No credit card, no monthly subscription, no paid virtual currency. The server is funded by the volunteerism and passion of its creators.
3. Code of Conduct
To ensure an enjoyable experience for all, players are required to respect the following rules:
- Treat all community members with respect and kindness
- Do not use third-party software to cheat or exploit vulnerabilities
- Do not harass, insult or threaten other players
- Do not share illegal, offensive or inappropriate content in communication channels
- Do not attempt to access server systems in an unauthorized manner
- Report bugs and anomalies to administrators rather than exploiting them
Any serious breach of conduct rules may result in temporary or permanent account suspension, without notice or compensation.
4. Personal Data
As part of registration, we collect only:
- A freely chosen username (pseudonym)
- A password stored in hashed form (SHA-1)
No email address, real name or personally identifiable information is requested. The data collected is used exclusively for authentication to the game server.
We do not sell, rent or share any data with third parties. Your information stays on our servers and is protected in accordance with good computer security practices.
In full transparency: authentication relies on a mechanism inherited from the 2009 client (unsalted SHA-1), now considered weak. We cannot replace it without modifying the game client. Never use a password here that you use on another service.
Deleting your account: write to us at the address given in section 8, stating your account name. Deletion takes place within 30 days and permanently removes your characters.
5. Service Availability
As a voluntary and educational project, the SGW server is provided "as is", without any guarantee of continuous availability. Interruptions may occur for:
- Regular server maintenance or updates
- Bug fixes or security patches
- Unexpected technical issues
- Development team decisions
The team will do its best to communicate planned interruptions in advance via the official Discord server.
6. Intellectual Property
The Stargate universe, its characters, mythology and visual elements are the property of MGM / Amazon Studios. Stargate Worlds is a non-commercial, non-affiliated fan-made project.
This project is made in a spirit of respect for the original creators. It generates no revenue and is in no way commercial competition to the official franchise.
The original developments made for this server (code, tools, configurations) remain the property of their respective authors and are shared in an open-source and community spirit.

8. Legal notice
- Publisher — Stargate Worlds — a non-commercial fan-made project published by a private individual. Under article 6 III of the French LCEN, a non-professional publisher has provided their identity to their host and is not required to disclose it publicly.

Rights holders — This project draws on the Stargate universe, owned by MGM / Amazon MGM Studios, and on assets from the game Stargate Worlds. Any rights holder wishing to have content removed may write to the address above: the request will be handled promptly and in good faith, with no need for legal proceedings.
